FAQ
What is Ray’s?
Ray’s is a project right now. It’s an idea.
But we think it could be something special. A small, intentional room for artists in Chattanooga where music is the focus, and people come to really listen.
Is there a location?
Yep. If we can raise the money, it will live in Old Town Brainerd just thru the Missionary Ridge tunnel.
Why do this?
Because Chattanooga needs a space like this. A place for musicians to gather and connect that isn’t centered around alcohol and doesn’t require a crowd of hundreds to feel alive.
And because of the impact a space like this could have on the youngest of our city’s musicians. What happens when young musicians have more spaces to try, fail, and try again that keeps them feeling like they can actually find what they’re chasing?
How does this become reality?
We’re crowd funding.
We’re trying to raise $50,000 to open the doors.
It’s a big ask, and it’s a little scary, but we believe it’s possible, so we’re going for it.
What’s the money for?
It’s for great sound. The gear and the room adjustments that help the music shine.
It’s for seating, lighting, a bar, and the atmosphere that makes people want to stay.
It’s for paying local people fairly to help us build it.
It’s for plants, paint, and everything else that helps Ray’s come to life.
It’s about giving this project the best possible chance to matter.
Who is Ray’s for?
For musicians who want to be heard clearly.
For listeners who want something real.
For students, kids, older folks, and anyone who cares about live music and connection.
What’s the plan beyond opening?
We will always focus first on intentional and immersive experiences,
but we also want to offer music education opportunities by partnering with existing Chattanooga groups, music workshops, clinics, masterclasses, all-ages shows, and any other need our city has that this space can support.
We want students to have access to the stage regularly.
We want to support young and emerging artists and give them the space to grow.
How can I support this?
Talk about it.
Share it.
Donate if you can.
Come to a show when the doors open.
